grilled cheese = cure
there’s nothing quite like a grilled cheese sandwich to help ease a hangover.  i know it’s not necessarily the healthiest, but damn, is it good.  the one i ordered had mozzarella, fontina, and tomato-olive preserves.  nom.

bluetooth ruined crazy.
has anyone noticed that since the advent of bluetooth and earbuds for phones, it’s a lot harder to pick out the crazies?  i used to enjoy identifying them easily on the street, train, in waiting rooms, etc. the other day on the subway, i got my fix, though.  the woman across from me was definitely talking to an invisible person, and we were way underground, so had no chance of reception. ...

although the cold makes it easier for me to stay inside and work on my grad school essays, i’m still kind of mad at myself for waiting til the last minute (as usual).  i normally can’t work without pressure, even though i dislike it so much.  but here i am today, not barreling through as usual.  harumph.

amazingly enough, throughout the holiday, i’ve been able to ward off the dread of my impending return to work.  (i’m super proud of myself for this, by the way).  now, that day is tomorrow. it’s so hard to stay calm when you know that you will be walking into a several-month-long-disaster, and that there’s not going to be much relief for it. for tonight, my goal is only...
